Meteorology issues warning: Effective from midnight! Which provinces will be under snowfall?

Turkey is entering the influence of a new cold air wave. The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that temperatures across the country will decrease significantly starting tomorrow.

Temperatures will drop by 7 to 8 degrees in inland areas, and by 5 to 6 degrees in other regions.

Heavy rainfall and snowfall will be effective in most of the country until Monday.

The heavy rain and thunderstorms that were intense in Istanbul yesterday will lose their effect starting today.

WHERE WILL IT SNOW IN ISTANBUL?

Meteorology expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated that starting from midnight, Bolu, Kastamonu, Erzurum, Erzincan, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, Düzce, Ağrı, Muş, Bitlis, Kars, and the Black Sea highlands will be surrendered to snowfall.

He also stated that sleet could be seen in the high altitudes of Kayseri, Niğde, and Ankara.

In his posts on his social media account, Şen noted the following:

"The heavy rain expected in the east of Marmara, the Aegean, and the Western Black Sea in the morning will be seen as light in Central Anatolia and heavy in the Central and Eastern Black Sea in the afternoon. Air temperatures will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the western parts.

Today the wind is turning to the north, and temperatures are decreasing. After midnight, for 2 days, sleet and snow are coming to Bolu, Kastamonu, Erzurum, Erzincan, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, Düzce, Ağrı, Muş, Bitlis, Kars, and the Black Sea highlands, and sleet is coming to the high altitudes of Kayseri, Niğde, and Ankara. Temperatures will drop by 7-8 degrees.

In Istanbul, the rain is expected to be locally heavy in the morning hours.

11 C. Ankara is rainy, 12 C, with sleet in the surrounding high altitudes after midnight. Tomorrow 6 C. İzmir is expected to have locally heavy rain in the morning hours, 18 C. Antalya is rainy, 20 C. Erzurum 1 C, snowy tomorrow."
