The claims that the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Republic were lackluster are being debated on social media.
Famous screenwriter Gani Müjde also joined this controversy.
'THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE AVOIDING THE CELEBRATIONS'
Müjde commented, "There are those who are blocking the Republic's 100th-anniversary celebrations with various excuses and those who are avoiding the celebrations. I wonder who will be lucky enough to open the exhibition of shamelessness years from now? I am very curious."
On the other hand, the Directorate of Communications responded yesterday to the claims that "Republic Day celebrations have been canceled" in a statement it released.
STATEMENT FROM THE DIRECTORATE OF COMMUNICATIONS:
"The claims shared on social media and appearing in press outlets that 'Republic Day celebrations have been canceled' are baseless.
Various events will be organized across the country and abroad to ensure that the 100th anniversary of the Republic is celebrated with enthusiasm, in a manner worthy of the 'Century of Turkey'.
Turkey's accelerating success in many fields, from health to education, from technology to the defense industry, and from foreign policy to culture and arts, will be announced.
Within the scope of the events, Turkey's achievements over the last 100 years will be explained through various digital exhibitions and three-dimensional shows that utilize the latest technological capabilities. A visual show will be held on the Bosphorus with 2023 drones and fireworks. The 100th Anniversary Anthem will echo in historical venues where special light shows will be performed."
