Grammy-winning American Idol singer Mandisa Lynn Hundley has passed away at the age of 47. Memorial services have been held in honor of the artist.

In a statement to the BBC, Mandisa's manager said the artist was found dead in her home, adding, "We do not know the cause of death or any further details at this time" they stated.

The singer, known by the stage name Mandisa, won the award for best contemporary Christian music in 2014 with her album titled "Overcomer" in the category of won a Grammy award.

The artist, who achieved significant success while building a career in Christian music,

received Grammy nominations for her albums, including the 2011 release "What If We Were Real", the 2009 release "Freedom" and the 2007 release True Beauty.

In her 2022 memoir titled "Out of the Dark: My Journey Through The Shadows To Find God's Joy", Mandisa shared insights regarding her struggles with depression and grief in life.
