Following the completion of the investigation into the death of singer Güllü, who lost her life after falling from the window of her home in Yalova on September 26, 2025, all eyes have turned to the first hearing of the case. Güllü's son, Tuğberk Yağız Gülter, made striking statements regarding both his sister, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, and the process in comments made before the hearing.

In the indictment prepared by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an aggravated life sentence was requested for Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter for the crime of "premeditated murder of a lineal ascendant." For the second defendant in the file, Sultan Nur Ulu, a prison sentence of up to 4 years was requested for the crime of "perjury." The trial of the defendants will begin on October 1, 2026.

Speaking to Show Haber, Tuğberk Yağız Gülter stated that he has not visited his sister in prison and that he will attend the trial not in the capacity of her "brother," but as his mother's son.

"When I go to the trial, I will be there not as her brother, but as my mother's son. She will be there alone. Regardless of the outcome, there is no brotherhood between us. My only wish is for the truth to come out. Whatever the truth is, let it come out. Did someone harm my mother, or did they not?"

Stating that the tension between him and his sister dates back further, Gülter expressed that her attitudes and behaviors toward their mother had caused arguments between them in the past as well. Stating that he wants the question marks in the process to be cleared up, Gülter said, "Let the question marks disappear so that I can finally be left alone with my grief. When I go to my mother's side, I will be able to find peace this time."

Tuğberk Yağız Gülter also said that he does not want to see his aunt by his side on the day of the hearing. Alleging that there were claims of verbal and physical violence as well as insults directed at his mother, Gülter stated that there was "no logic" in such a person being by his side on the day of the hearing.

Stating that he is striving for the truth to emerge, Gülter conveyed that he had submitted a petition for lawyer Burçe Gözeler, Güllü's assistant Çiğdem Emir, and Sultan Nur Ulu to be heard as witnesses at the trial.
