Özcan Deniz frequently makes headlines due to issues within his family. Deniz, who suffered a heart spasm in February, was hospitalized and underwent an angiogram. Following this incident, he obtained a 3-month restraining order against his brother, Ercan Deniz. Recently, liens were placed on Özcan Deniz's accounts and his assets were seized due to Ercan Deniz's debts.
Özcan Deniz's ex-wife, Feyza Aktan, has also become involved in these family tensions. In a statement on her social media account, Aktan used harsh language toward Ercan Deniz. Aktan stated that many people had been involved in her marriage to Özcan Deniz from the very beginning and claimed that Ercan Deniz controlled Özcan's life.
"Özcan and I had a love marriage. However, too many people were involved in this marriage from the start. We set out on a path for two, but we were forced to walk with a crowd we didn't want along the way. Because Özcan grew up without a father figure, he was someone who put his older brother in the place of a father. He accepted whatever he said without question, not even doubting him for a single day. Company management, money, decisions... Everything was under Ercan Deniz's control. And he abused that trust. As Özcan's friends—myself included—we warned him many times. But he silenced all of us by saying, 'I trust my brother, he is my dear.'"

Aktan claimed that Ercan Deniz tried to make her sign a prenuptial agreement and attempted to control Özcan Deniz's wealth. "Now I ask you, Ercan Deniz: While I was married to Özcan, weren't you the one who tried to make me sign a prenuptial agreement multiple times so that you could be the sole heir to his fortune? Aren't you the one who is now making him pay the price for the signatures he placed with trust, calling you 'my brother,' by seizing all his assets?" she said.
Aktan concluded her statement by declaring that Ercan Deniz should never mention her son's name again due to his greed for money. "Because of your greed for money, you will never mention my son's name again. Both before you interfered and after you left, we managed to move forward as a very good mother and father with Özcan. Settle your own accounts without using our names," she stated.
