Süleyman Soylu, Chairman of the Interior Affairs Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, targeted Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel in a statement made on social media.

Reacting to Özel's rhetoric at rallies, Soylu stated, 'He insulted our ministers in the squares of Şişli and Saraçhane. Just as he insulted our sacred values at the Şehzadebaşı Mosque, he also had insults directed at our President's family. In the same way, he directed all kinds of insults at me as well.'

'BULLYING IN POLITICS'

Drawing attention to the state of bullying in politics, Soylu said, 'There is a political bully at the head of the CHP, and that person is Özgür Özel.' Addressing the recent allegations regarding tapes in Cyprus, Soylu stated that these claims were baseless.

Soylu remarked, 'It is claimed that there are 45 tapes in Cyprus; supposedly I called Özgür Özel and admitted to my own tape. They are trying to deceive our nation with such lies and mischief. May God protect our nation from these lies. Those who do not prove such allegations are dishonorable.'
