In the incident that took place in the courtyard of the Altınordu District Police Department located in the Yeni neighborhood of the Altınordu district, Sefa Yılmaz (37) forcibly took the weapon from the officer's holster at the station where he had gone to give a statement and shot himself in the head. Yılmaz, who collapsed to the ground covered in blood, died at the scene. Yılmaz's body was taken to the Ordu Forensic Medicine Institute following investigations at the scene.

The footage shows Sefa Yılmaz sitting on a bench, grabbing the waist of a police officer to his right, quickly taking the weapon, and the police officer struggling to retrieve the weapon and neutralize the individual, but then the moments when Sefa Yılmaz shoots himself.

He had gone to the station to give a statement

On the other hand, it was alleged that Sefa Yılmaz had gone to the address of his wife, who is in the process of divorce and has a restraining order against him, and taken her mobile phone, which led to him being summoned for a statement, and that he carried out the act while waiting in the courtyard. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
