Çanakkale's tourism hub in the North Aegean Sea, the Bozcaada district, has seen occupancy rates in its accommodation facilities reach 80 percent ahead of the 9-day Ramadan Feast holiday.
The occupancy rate is expected to reach 100 percent by the time the holiday begins. Business owners on the island have urged vacationers planning to choose Bozcaada for the holiday to make their reservations in advance. They warned visitors not to arrive without a reservation.
Reflecting the atmosphere of a small town with its narrow streets, old Greek houses with unique architecture, seafood restaurants, Turkey's best-preserved historical castle, pristine bays, clean and ice-cold sea, as well as its proximity to Istanbul, the tourism hub of Bozcaada has become a favorite for the 9-day Ramadan Feast holiday. It is expected that vacationers, primarily from Istanbul and surrounding provinces, will choose the pearl of the North Aegean, Bozcaada, for the Ramadan Feast. During the holiday, the occupancy rate in Bozcaada's accommodation facilities—which have an official capacity of approximately 4,000 but can host up to 20,000 daily tourists in the summer months including unofficial facilities—is expected to reach 100 percent. Business owners on the island have urged vacationers planning to choose Bozcaada for the holiday to make their reservations in advance. They issued a warning not to arrive without a reservation.
"OUR OCCUPANCY HAS REACHED 80 PERCENT"
Bozcaada Tourism Operators Association (BOZTİD) President Kemal Furıncı said, "Bozcaada is the 4th most beautiful island in the world. Currently, our occupancy has reached 80 percent. Vacationers coming to the island will spend the best holiday eating the most delicious food in the island's peaceful and pleasant streets and restaurants. It would be better if our vacationers make their reservations in advance."
Business owner on the island Fahri Bulut stated, "Bozcaada is one of the most preferred places for vacationers this year, just as it is every year. Bozcaada is ready for the holiday. If our vacationers make their arrival and departure reservations online through Gestaş while coming to the island, they will have a comfortable trip. I wish everyone a happy holiday in advance."
Business owner Cemil Günday said, "This year, the season in Bozcaada opened a little earlier due to the Ramadan Feast. Our vacationers have started to arrive on the island. All businesses, including ours, are ready for the holiday. I wish everyone a happy holiday in advance."
