How much tax is charged on online purchases from abroad?
According to a decision published with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, taxes on products ordered from abroad have been increased by 66 to 100 percent. The shopping limit has been reduced to 30 euros.

A new regulation has been introduced for those shopping from abroad. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for goods arriving to an individual via mail or express cargo transport that do not possess a commercial quantity or nature, and with a value not exceeding 30 euros, as well as for medicine-type goods with a value not exceeding 1500 euros, a single and flat tax will be collected at the following rates:
a) 30 percent if arriving directly from European Union countries
b) 60 percent if arriving from other countries
c) An additional 20 percent flat tax will be collected on top of the above rates if the goods are included in the (IV) list attached to the Special Consumption Tax Law No. 4760 dated 6/6/2002.
The express cargo shopping limit from abroad has been reduced from 150 euros to 30 euros. The decision will enter into force in 15 days.
There is a 30-kilogram rule
Care must be taken to ensure that the purchased product does not exceed 30 kilograms. If the purchased products exceed 30 kilograms, they are subject to commercial customs laws. An additional 48 percent customs duty is also applied when calculating products exceeding 30 kilograms.
