Rice pilaf continues to be a staple of our tables with its delicious taste and practical preparation. Prepared with the recipes of master chefs, rice pilaf will offer a special flavor at every meal you share with your loved ones.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups of rice (soaked in warm water, drained)

2 cups of hot water (you can also use chicken broth)

2 tablespoons of butter

1 teaspoon of salt

PREPARATION

Rice Preparation

Soak the rice in warm water for about 30 minutes. This reduces the starch in the rice, helping it become more fluffy and distinct. After the soaking time, drain the rice.

Heating the Butter

Add the butter to a wide pot and melt it over medium heat. When the butter has completely melted, add the rice.

Sautéing the Rice

Sauté the rice in the butter for 4-5 minutes. At this stage, it is important that every grain of rice is coated with butter. Sauté until they become slightly transparent.

Tip

For a richer flavor in your pilaf, you can optionally add a few drops of lemon juice or a few sprigs of fresh herbs (such as parsley or dill) during the sautéing stage.

Adding Water

Add 2 cups of hot water (or chicken broth) to the sautéed rice. Add the salt and stir.

Cooking

Once the mixture starts to boil, cover the pot and turn the heat down to the lowest setting. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the rice has absorbed the water.

Resting

After the cooking time is complete, remove from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes without opening the lid of the pot. This allows the pilaf to steam and settle better.
