İbrahim Tatlıses announces he will leave his inheritance to the state: 'Not a penny for my children'

Famous artist İbrahim Tatlıses was hospitalized on April 7 after falling ill at his home in Istanbul. Tatlıses, who was taken into intensive care as a precaution, was diagnosed with cholecystitis, a bacterial infection originating from the gallbladder, and was treated with antibiotics. It was subsequently reported that he underwent gallbladder surgery on April 11.

While it was announced that the surgery was successful, the hospital's chief physician, Dr. Engin Çakmakçı, and the general surgeon who performed the operation, Prof. Dr. Bilgi Baca, announced that Tatlıses would be discharged after being kept under observation in intensive care for a while longer.

Following the completion of his treatment, Tatlıses left the hospital today, where he was awaited by his relatives and fans. Making a statement upon his departure, the artist said:

"If you are looking for a hospital in the world, this is the place. They write things like 'İbrahim Tatlıses is in intensive care'; it is not intensive care, it is baby care. They took care of me like a baby, I thank them all and offer my respects. I have adopted them all, they have become like my own children. They removed my gallbladder; what a gallbladder it was, a stone the size of my head came out. I thank my doctors."

“I DID NOT REQUEST THAT SOME OF MY CHILDREN NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE HOSPITAL”

Stating that his health is good, Tatlıses also touched upon the problems he has experienced with his children and spoke as follows:

"My friends never left me alone; they came from Izmir and Ankara, I thank them all. You need friends on days like this. May God be pleased with my children, but not all of them. Tuğçe is my dear, may God be pleased with her. But I have erased the letter A from the alphabet. I did not request that some of my children not be allowed into the hospital. They are not in the place they deserve in my heart. If my father were in this condition, I would not leave him alone; I would die for my father. I wish he would rise from the grave and cut my neck with an axe. I do not know when the value of fathers is understood."

HE ANNOUNCED HIS WILL: I HAVE LEFT EVERYTHING TO THE STATE

Speaking about his will, Tatlıses stated that he would leave all his assets to the state and said the following:

"Not a penny; because of some of them, a part of my family has also been victimized. My father did not leave me money; my father was a liver seller. I earned the money myself, I will spend it and distribute it as I please, what is it to anyone? I am the one who earned the money. I left them a very large legacy, they are not aware of it. When you say İbrahim Tatlıses, all doors open; they did not know how to use that."
