Kaan Sezyum admits to harassment allegations and apologizes

Recent allegations of harassment emerging one after another in the art world are causing a major stir in the sector. These allegations, which extend from photographers to actors, have brought many names to the agenda. One of these names is comedian Kaan Sezyum.

A woman who stated that she met Kaan Sezyum at a venue in Moda and later went to his home claimed in a social media post that Sezyum attempted to show sexual intimacy toward her. The woman stated, "I did not show any sexual intimacy, but he jumped on me at home and tried to kiss me. I immediately pushed him away and said things like 'what are you doing, you animal.' He said to me, 'well, why did you come then?' I left the house in a hurry."

SEZYUM'S STATEMENTS

In a statement on his social media account, Kaan Sezyum admitted to what happened and apologized. Sezyum said, "First of all, I am regretful and very sorry for what I caused. Following the incident, I began receiving psychological support to address my behavioral disorders and to ensure I do not cause such discomfort to those around me or myself. Upon the other party's objection, I stopped immediately and expressed that I had misunderstood the situation. I did not engage in any physical force. In this incident, I completely misread and misinterpreted the environment. The responsibility for my actions belongs to me. I cannot go back to the past and change what happened; I am very sorry. I can only promise that I will not cause such a terrible experience for anyone in the future. I apologize again to everyone, whether they like me or not."

Kaan Sezyum was born on March 24, 1976, in Heybeliada, Istanbul.
