France’s luxury brand Hermes is facing a lawsuit over accusations that it sells its "Birkin" bags only to established customers and requires those wishing to purchase a Birkin to first buy other products.

The iconic bag, which bears the name of the late actress and singer Jane Birkin, starts at 20 thousand dollars and can cost as much as 42 thousand dollars.

Tina Cavalleri and Mark Glinoga, who filed the lawsuit against the French luxury brand, alleged that Hermes violated antitrust laws by "tying" the sale of one product to the purchase of another.
