The series Kızıl Goncalar, broadcast on FOX TV and targeted by pro-government media and religious sects, has been handed a 2-episode suspension penalty by RTÜK.
Özcan Deniz, the lead actor of the series which focuses on the lives of religious and secular families, broke his silence following the events.
Making a statement on his Instagram account, Deniz rebelled by saying, 'I am not a moral guardian.'
Announcing the return date of the series, Deniz stated, "I am not a moral guardian. However, while I believe I am part of the most moral work of my career, this project has been dramatically accused of 'immorality.' And it was singled out from a sea of immorality. We will be back on your screens on January 22."
