Russian citizen Zhanna Khudiakova, who bought a duplex apartment in Antalya's Konyaaltı district 10 years ago, decided to move to Turkey about 2 years ago and came to Antalya. However, the tenant in the house she had rented out through a real estate agent did not vacate the property. Khudiakova took the matter to court, and as a result of a 1-year lawsuit, the court decided that the tenant should vacate the house.

However, the eviction order issued by the court was appealed.

"I CARRY A KNIFE WHILE SLEEPING IN THE BASEMENT"

Zhanna Khudiakova, who has been fighting a legal battle for the eviction of the house for over 1.5 years, is trying to survive in the area located in the basement of the same building, which other apartment owners use as a storage room, while her tenant continues to live in the duplex apartment. Khudiakova stated that her tenant is resisting vacating the house and that the process has dragged on because she did not know the legal system in Turkey. Khudiakova said, 'I am a woman alone; I carry a knife with me while sleeping in the basement at night out of fear.'

"NO TOILET, NO BATHROOM"

Stating that she cannot live in her own deeded apartment despite needing it due to the long-running lawsuit process, Khudiakova said, "Our case is still ongoing. I have been living in the apartment's storage room for 1.5 years. There is no water, electricity, kitchen, toilet, or bathroom. He is living comfortably in a furnished apartment for 5,700 lira rent. I am suffering here, and I am in fear in the evenings," she expressed.
