Famous folk singer Mahmut Tuncer's son Mehmet Umut Tuncer had carried out campaign activities as an Aydın parliamentary candidate during the election period. However, the famous singer's son did not achieve the results he hoped for in the elections.
Mehmet Umut Tuncer, who was elected as an MKYK member representing Aydın at the AKP's 4th Extraordinary Grand Congress, stated that he is proud to be appointed as an MKYK member.

Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ) Faculty of Communication faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Umut Tuncer included the following statements in his post on his social media account:
“I am proud to be appointed as an AK Party MKYK member with the approval of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Let us write new verses to the poem of love for our country together. Because on this path, 'Those who run with love do not get tired...'"
