During the latest meeting held by the complex management, a 40 percent increase in maintenance fees was decided, causing the fee the Balta family is obligated to pay to exceed the rent of many apartments in the big city.

In the complex where Hakan Balta and his family live, the new maintenance fee has risen to 25,600 TL. Hakan Balta's mother, who lives in a different block in the same complex, was also affected by the hike and is now required to pay a maintenance fee of 21,700 TL. Thus, the family's total monthly expense has reached 47,300 TL. Faced with the increasing financial burden, it was reported that Hakan Balta consulted with his wife Derya Balta and decided to move, and they are now looking for a new home in the area.

The Balta couple is considering moving to a different neighborhood as they believe the complex's social amenities and security do not justify these high fees. The couple, who married in 2007, made headlines due to the shock they experienced over the maintenance fees. Hakan Balta played football for Galatasaray for many years and ended his professional football career in 2018.
