In Cappadocia, known for its natural, historical, and cultural riches, hot air balloons that offer tourists the chance to view the region from a bird's-eye perspective carried Turkish flags across the sky.
Before sunrise, staff hung Turkish flags on the baskets of the balloons, which were prepared for flight near Love Valley in the town of Göreme, located in the center of Nevşehir.
After the tourists boarded the baskets, 150 hot air balloons ascended into the skies over the region with approximately 4,000 passengers.
The balloons carrying the Turkish flags flew over the valleys covered with fairy chimneys for one hour.
Tourists watching the scene created by the balloons with Turkish flags took photographs.
Balloon pilot Hakan Kaya told reporters that they felt the pride of waving the crescent-and-star flag in the sky, stating, "As on every special day, we are hanging our flags on our baskets on May 19 as well. We thank Mustafa Kemal Atatürk very much for gifting this holiday to the youth. There will be 4,000 passengers during the flight. The whole world will witness this special day; we are very excited."
