The Board of Directors of the Magazine Journalists Association (MGD) carried out its first official program at Anıtkabir in Ankara after taking office. The delegation, consisting of MGD President Bülent Makar, board members and association members, appeared before Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and laid a wreath at the mausoleum as part of an official ceremony.
''THE PRESS IS THE COMMON VOICE OF THE NATION''
Afterward, the MGD President proceeded to the National Pact Tower and signed the Anıtkabir Special Book on behalf of the board of directors. In the message he wrote in the book, Makar recalled Atatürk's words, “The press is the common voice of the nation,” emphasizing that this principle is one of the most important guides for the MGD administration.
Makar said they regard it as an honorable responsibility to keep alive an understanding of journalism that does not stray from the truth and is committed to culture, art and the fundamental values of the Republic, adding: “We promise that we will continue to carry the Republic you entrusted to us and the light of your ideas into the future with the same faith and determination.”
During the emotional visit, the MGD delegation once again expressed its respect and devotion to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic.
Nurettin Soydan, one of the founders and Honorary President of MGD, said in a statement after the visit, "On a meaningful day, July 28, we visited Anıtkabir. I thank all our colleagues who participated for making this day meaningful."
