Following Konak's passing, an emotional farewell message came days later from his wife of 35 years, Selma Konak.

In her post, Konak's wife stated, "Ours was not a love story. It was love, the rest is just a story. We were so attached to each other... We lived every moment together, we dedicated every moment to each other."

"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME, VOLKAN"

Selma Konak, the wife of 35 years of Volkan Konak, whose funeral prayer was held at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque in Levent, had struggled to stand.

Sharing on social media days later, Selma Konak addressed her late husband with these words:

'A dark, pitch-black night... On the night of March 30, Turkey lost the Son of the North, and I lost my life. My heart aches so much that it is impossible to describe it with words.

Ours was not a love story. It was love, the rest is just a story. We were so attached to each other... We lived every moment together, we dedicated every moment to each other.

Now, trying to understand a life without him, feeling the void in my heart is very difficult.

Your face is in my eyes, your voice is in my ears. Just as the Black Sea has been left orphaned, I have been left incomplete without you. My poet-souled, poem-worded Volkan; this is how separations are experienced on the path to reunion.

Behind you, there are unfinished goodbyes and lonely moments without a farewell. Until the day we meet again...'
