Metin Akpınar broke his silence following the reports in the press. Akpınar made the following statement:
"As of October 13, 2023, after the legal procedures were completed, Duygu was registered under my civil registry, and her sister will also be registered once the legal process is complete. Since I got to know my daughters, there has been no change in my acceptance of them or my feelings toward them. This lawsuit process has had no negative impact on this.
I am very sorry for the pain suffered by my children, whose existence I was unaware of. Furthermore, I apologize for upsetting my wife, Göksel Akpınar. Most importantly, I apologize to the public, whom I have senselessly upset.
Unfortunately, life cannot be lived backwards."
