Muazzez Abacı has passed away

Turkish classical music artist Muazzez Abacı has passed away at the age of 78 at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the USA, where she was receiving treatment.

Abacı's manager, Taner Budak, stated in a post on his social media account, "It is with great sadness that we lost our artist Muazzez Abacı on November 12, 2025, on her 78th birthday. She will always be remembered for her love, her smiling face, and her beautiful heart." The cause of Abacı's death has not yet been announced.

Budak had stated in an announcement on October 31 that Abacı had undergone an angiography last week due to a heart condition and had a stent placed, and that the contrast fluid administered during the angiography had caused issues with her kidneys.

Budak had explained that because her kidneys were not functioning fully, her lungs had filled with fluid, causing her to experience breathing difficulties, and that Abacı had been admitted to intensive care.
