Turkey is talking about the landslide that occurred in İliç, Erzincan, and the subsequent environmental disaster.
While statements continue to come from the government side claiming that the cyanide used in the mine has not spread to the environment, dozens of figures, primarily political party leaders, agree that what has happened is an environmental disaster...
The latest name to make a statement regarding the mine, which has undergone many inspections over the years, was former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.
Regarding the cyanide claims following the landslide at the mine in İliç, Erzincan, Yıldırım stated, "I specifically asked my colleagues about this. Actually, the chemical used for separation is stored in a separate place.
There is nothing there, neither a landslide nor any other movement." This statement by Yıldırım drew numerous criticisms, especially on social media.
A CALL FROM MUSTAFA SANDAL
Mustafa Sandal was one of the people who reacted to Yıldırım on his social media account and issued a call. Sandal addressed Binali Yıldırım, who said there was no cyanide danger in the region, and said the following:
"The brave son of Erzincan that I know, Mr. Binali Yıldırım, should go to the region to put everyone's mind at ease, take a handful of soil from there with his bare hands without any protective clothing, and bring peace of mind to both his fellow countrymen and his fellow citizens. That is what would suit him!"
