The beloved artist described how she overcame this difficult process in an interview she gave to Günaydın.

Stating that the pain of losing a child is fresh every day, Karaböcek responded to the question, "You lost your child. How did you cope with this pain?" as follows: "I can't cope with it. It's very difficult for me. When you lose someone from your family, a candle is said to burn. Even as years pass, a child's candle never goes out. The pain of losing a child is very heavy. My pain never subsides. Every moment is a torment for me. My son's voice is always in my ears; his stories, his memories are always with me. He was a very educated person. He received his education in America. His only dream was to come to Turkey and open a school. But it didn't happen. He never got sick. He didn't smoke, he didn't drink. He passed away suddenly from his heart"

Karaböcek added that she wants to have a school built in his name to keep her son's memory alive.
