Nevşin Mengü reacts to Dilan Polat's prayer post: "Damn, as if..."
Known for her luxury-filled social media posts, Dilan Polat and Engin Polat have returned to their normal lives following their release from prison. While their quick recovery and resumption of social media activity have drawn criticism, a recent video shared by Dilan Polat, in which she describes her husband Engin Polat's knees being bruised from praying in prison, has become a hot topic. Journalist Nevşin Mengü was quick to react to this post.

Dilan Polat, who faced up to 40 years in prison on charges of 'establishing a criminal organization,' 'money laundering,' and 'illegal betting,' was released on August 19, while Engin Polat was released on September 6. While Dilan Polat has been in the spotlight for resuming her social media posts right where she left off, she recently drew backlash for filming Engin Polat's legs and commenting on them.
Dilan Polat said, "I put cream on Engin's legs because from praying... There's no carpet there (in prison). They've turned black like this. You were hitting them on the floor, right? Mine used to be like that too. First they bruise, then they turn black, right Engin?"
"DAMN, AS IF..."
Nevşin Mengü was very annoyed upon hearing these words. In her statement, Mengü said, "Look, she says his knees are bruised from praying; by the way, we checked, you can perfectly well bring a prayer rug into prison. Damn, as if they went to a Soviet Russian labor camp? What do you mean there's nothing there? I'm sure if you asked in prison, you'd find nothing more abundant than prayer rugs. They've learned how the system works. Oh, while praying and so on, but they deserve it! This is how this country is managed."
