The actor's brother, Umut Özkan, announced that his brother had developed an upper respiratory tract infection and that his influenza test came back positive.
Stating that doctors warned this condition carries the risk of exacerbating his liver failure, Özkan said that visits to the hospital room have been prohibited.

I feel the need to make this statement to inform the public and share an important situation once again.
My brother Ufuk Özkan has developed an upper respiratory tract infection, and his Influenza A tests have come back positive.
Our doctors state that this situation carries the risk of exacerbating his liver failure.
For this reason, visits have been prohibited until a new date is announced.
