A new statement has been released regarding the health status of comedian Cem Yılmaz, who was hospitalized after falling ill in Çanakkale. It was reported that Yılmaz, who underwent an angiography at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Hospital, is in good general condition.
ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Erenoğlu told reporters in front of the hospital that the initial intervention for Yılmaz was performed at Ayvacık State Hospital, and he was subsequently brought to the university hospital at 8:30 PM.
Erenoğlu stated that the cardiology team had completed their preparations to receive Yılmaz and that the problematic vessels were successfully treated by Prof. Dr. Ercan Akşit and his team. Erenoğlu said, "His general health condition is very good, thank God; he is even cracking jokes."
Noting that Yılmaz was treated using an angiography device recently acquired by the hospital, Erenoğlu added that the artist is being kept under observation and will be moved to a regular ward if the process continues positively.
Prof. Dr. Ercan Akşit, a faculty member at the ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine Department of Cardiology, also stated that Yılmaz is being monitored in the intensive care unit. Akşit explained that the observation process is ongoing to prevent potential complications from a heart attack, and if his general condition remains stable, he will be moved to a regular ward after 24 hours.
Akşit indicated that Yılmaz is planned to be discharged within a day or two. Cem Yılmaz had fallen ill at his home in Paşaköy, located in the Ayvacık district; following initial intervention, he was transferred to the ÇOMÜ Hospital Coronary Intensive Care Unit. A balloon and stent procedure was performed on Yılmaz via his wrist in the angiography laboratory, lasting approximately 40 minutes.
