Oğuzhan Uğur’s commentary on Palestine-Israel becomes a trending topic

Hamas’s armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, launched the Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel on the morning of October 7. The Israeli military’s retaliation was swift.

While more than 250 Israeli citizens lost their lives as a result of Hamas’s attacks, 232 Palestinians also died in the counter-attacks carried out by Israel.

As various comments regarding the events in the region have come from journalists, politicians, and social media, a noteworthy statement also came from Babala TV owner Oğuzhan Uğur.

Uğur’s post became a trending topic on social media.

"RAISED WITH A HAMAS LIFESTYLE..."

Emphasizing that the events in Palestine are now closer to Turkey, Uğur stated, “Thousands of people on the streets of Istanbul are calling for war with Palestinian flags. The voices of those shouting 'Turkish soldiers to Palestine' are merging with the applause of millions living in our country who have been raised exactly with a Hamas lifestyle and have crossed mountains to take refuge in our country.”

Uğur expressed the following:

"Palestinians launched a suicide attack on Israel, which was founded on lands sold by their greedy grandfathers. This time, what they lose will not just be the fedayeen they strapped with suicide vests. This time, beyond a regional operation, Israel will attack with the support of the world until it brings the Palestinian people to their knees. In one day, you have had your fill of blood, oppression, and brutality; you have faced the true face of war. You watched kidnapped women, elderly people executed by firing squad, and young people slaughtered. You put your loved ones in their place as your hearts ached, you felt the fear within you.

However, if you are not ready, you should know that in the coming days, you will see new versions of these images, frequently and in abundance. The world is entering a sharp turn. As countries announce who they will support, they are determining their positions on the chessboard. There are also those who think this is a periodic issue as it was in the past. Some are trying to explain things to those who cannot hear themselves over their own screams by listing the betrayals Palestine has committed against us throughout history. Yet, what we should be talking about is not which side is less guilty, but that the continuation of the fault line that broke in Israel passes right beneath us. Yes, we are very familiar with the Israel-Palestine conflicts. First, we read about it in writing, then we saw it in black-and-white recordings. Later, we watched it pixel by pixel. The pain is the same, the screams are the same, the injustice is the same. Now we are watching what is happening live. The only thing that has changed for years was the image quality…

But now… The voice of Palestine is reaching Istanbul before its image. Thousands of people on the street are calling for war with Palestinian flags. The voices of those shouting 'Turkish soldiers to Palestine' are merging with the applause of millions living in our country who have been raised exactly with a Hamas lifestyle and have crossed mountains to take refuge in our country. Those shouting for war do not see it; there is no need for you to send us to war, the war is coming to us. Let us move past the section of 'are we right or wrong,' which is our chronic inter-party sport, my fellow citizens. The real question that should encompass all parties is this: are we ready? I do not care about your side or who you sympathize with.

If the issue is the homeland, the rest is detail. While the world is boiling, the only flag we should hold in our hands is the Turkish Flag. May God not let this nation experience war."
