Artist Orhan Gencebay was spotted in Rumelihisarı the other day. Gencebay gave the following answer to the question, "How do you find Turkish music in recent years?":
"This is a very long but extremely important topic. We see that our local and national values have taken a hit. We need extremely important studies, opinions, and perspectives for this to be corrected.
Unfortunately, there is no one among us who has sufficient knowledge on this subject. I am not saying it is a collapse right now, but we are in a difficult place. The sole reason for this is that the creator is not receiving their material and moral rights. That is why first-rate composers and performers are not emerging. New albums are not being released either"
'WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE MOST UNPRODUCTIVE PERIOD'
Continuing his words, the artist used the expressions, "Producers, performers, composers, and creative producers are experiencing their most unproductive period. If we do not break free from this, we certainly cannot carry our culture and our local and national values forward".
