The ceremony for MİSP's traditional 'Patriotism Award,' held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in the capital Nicosia, was attended by President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Assembly Zorlu Töre, ministers, members of parliament, institutional representatives, and guests.
Artist Haluk Levent was among those deemed worthy of the 'Patriotism Award,' which this year was primarily presented to those who made the voice of the TRNC heard on international platforms, particularly following the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
In his speech at the ceremony, Tatar emphasized that they follow the work of MİSP with appreciation, noting that the efforts put forth, especially during the earthquake disaster, were highly valuable.
‘A NATIONAL STANCE IS IMPORTANT’
Stating that they will continue to follow the ongoing trial regarding the Isias Hotel, where students who traveled from the TRNC to Adıyaman for a volleyball tournament were staying, Tatar said, 'We became one heart during the earthquake process; the pain united us.
It is impossible for us to forget the people we lost,' he stated.
Haluk Levent also said, 'I have thoughts that say, regardless of which political party or ideology you belong to, be national. A national stance is important.'
Emphasizing that they received support from many individuals and organizations in the TRNC to heal wounds during the earthquake process, Levent thanked those who provided support on behalf of the Ahbap Association.
During the program, TRNC President Ersin Tatar presented the 'Patriotism Award' to Haluk Levent.
