Police officers in the Trnava region of Slovakia saw a brown hunting dog sitting at the wheel of a Skoda Kamiq in images captured by a speed camera. The dog appeared to have everything under control and was calmly driving the small SUV on public roads with no sign of any human passengers in the vehicle.
THE MYSTERY WAS SOLVED QUICKLY
The mystery was solved a few minutes later when a police patrol caught the Skoda Kamiq, which appeared to be driven by the dog, traveling 10 km/h over the speed limit in the village of Sterusy. The 31-year-old male owner of the vehicle initially claimed that his dog had unexpectedly jumped into his lap. However, the video footage contradicted this explanation.
The man's loyal friend could not comprehend its owner's misconduct, leading officers to issue a fine for violating traffic rules. DRIVERS WARNED:
'BEFORE HITTING THE ROAD...'
It could not be learned whether the vehicle owner was fined for speeding or for failing to properly secure his pet in a moving vehicle. In any case, such behavior is unacceptable behind the wheel, as pets, regardless of their training, should not control a vehicle independently.
While this is not the first time we have encountered a dog with driving instincts, it is certainly not a common sight. Officers from Policia SR Trnavsky Kraj also emphasized that "even a small animal can endanger your life and health while driving," and urged drivers to ensure their pets are always properly secured inside the vehicle before hitting the road.
