The people of Artvin have mobilized for baby Aytun, who suffers from SMA. A fundraising campaign was launched with the approval of the governorate to find the money required for the baby's treatment. Artists from Artvin are also supporting the campaign with concert events in various parts of Turkey. There was great interest in the concert organized under the leadership of the Artvinliler Hizmet Vakfı (Artvin People's Service Foundation) at the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Culture Center in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul. However, due to the attack in the Israel-Palestine War that resulted in the deaths of 500 people, including babies and children, the concert portion of the event was canceled.
837 THOUSAND 200 DOLLARS NEEDED
Social support for the struggle for life of babies with SMA is increasing. The people of Artvin have also mobilized for baby Aytun. So far, 982 thousand dollars have been raised in the campaign launched to find the 1 million 820 thousand dollars required for baby Aytun's treatment. To complete the campaign, which is currently at the 54 percent level, 837 thousand 200 dollars are still needed.
The people of Artvin, who have mobilized to complete the treatment fee for baby Aytun, are supporting the campaign with various events. Many artists from Artvin supported the aid campaign held in Istanbul under the leadership of the Artvinliler Hizmet Vakfı. Numerous artists and musicians, including Bizim Yaşar, Aydoğan Toprak, Pınar Yıldız, Salih Yılmaz, İsa Zor, Mürsel Akdemir, Yeşim Köksal, and Merve Holefter, participated in the concert organized at the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Culture Center in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul.
"A SPECIAL BUDGET MUST BE CREATED"
There was great interest from the people of Artvin in the organization. In his speech during the night, Esen Yağcı, President of the Artvinliler Hizmet Vakfı, drew attention to the high cost of treatment for babies with SMA and asked the Ministry of Health to take steps to solve this problem. Yağcı said, "Just as we saved baby Deniz before, we will save baby Aytun. However, this is not an issue that can be sustained through campaigns for a long time. The state needs to take steps on this matter and perhaps create a special budget."
Baby Aytun's father, Osman Erbay, thanked everyone who supported the campaign in his emotional speech.
İsa Altun, President of the Federation of Şavşat Associations, also called on everyone to support aid campaigns for children with SMA in his speech. Altun also condemned the massacres occurring in the Palestine-Israel War.
"NO TO WAR"
The night also turned into an anti-war demonstration. While speakers protested the massacres in the Israel-Palestine War, slogans of "No to War" were chanted. Esen Yağcı, President of the Artvinliler Hizmet Vakfı, said, "On the night we came together to save a baby, we received news of a massacre that included babies. We condemn everyone who has a hand in this massacre. We want the war to end as soon as possible. That is why we are once again voicing the words of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: 'Peace at home, peace in the world'."
