The Pink Ball takes flight from the hands of Cansu Dere
The Pink Ball, which has become a symbol of awareness for early diagnosis of breast cancer in Turkey, has taken to the court for the 10th time. Actress Cansu Dere, this year's supporter of the project, performed the ceremonial tip-off before the Anadolu Efes SK vs. Real Madrid match. Dere stated, "Breast cancer affects one in every 8 women, but early diagnosis plays a vital role in treatment success."

Anadolu Medical Center and Anadolu Efes Sports Club have collaborated on the Pink Ball on the Court project, with actress Cansu Dere serving as this year's volunteer supporter.
During the Anadolu Efes SK vs. Real Madrid match played on October 12, 2023, the Pink Ball once again reminded women of the life-saving message of early diagnosis.
The match, in which Anadolu Efes athletes took the court wearing jerseys specially prepared for the 10th anniversary of the project, began with the tip-off performed by Cansu Dere with the Pink Ball.
'EARLY DIAGNOSIS PLAYS A VITAL ROLE'
Speaking before the tip-off, Cansu Dere said, “Every year, more than 2 million women worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer. Among all cancers, breast cancer is the most common type among women in Turkey. Breast cancer affects one in every 8 women, but early diagnosis plays a vital role in treatment success.”
Continuing her remarks, Dere added, “Our most precious asset is our health, and there are many things we can do to protect it. For women, especially after the age of 40, having a mammogram once a year and going for doctor check-ups are at the top of this list. I call on all women to take this simple but life-saving step.”
