These insects, which live especially in warm, sheltered, and humid areas, view these spaces as habitats due to the fruit, nectar, and sweet substances secreted by aphids. Since colonies usually build nests in the lower layers of the soil, eliminating them through physical means is quite difficult.
Boric acid, a slow-acting poison, is turned into bait by combining it with sugar, which attracts ants and allows the entire colony to be targeted.
