With over 626 million users worldwide, Spotify, which significantly contributes to artists' reach outside their home countries, has announced the songs by Turkish artists released in the first half of 2024 that were most streamed outside of Turkey during this period.

In the list, where Lvbel C5 and BLOK3 appeared with multiple songs, tracks by artists such as Reynmen, Zeynep Bastık, Ebru Yaşar, Sefo, Melis Kar, Mert Demir, Dedublüman, and INJI were also featured. While a large portion of the global streams for the songs on the list came from countries such as Germany, France, Austria, and the Netherlands, INJI, whose songs went viral, created an exception by being streamed most in the USA in the global arena.

ARABESK POP ENTERS INTERNATIONAL CHARTS

The list announced by Spotify reveals how large a fan base Arabesk pop—which blends traditional Arabesk music elements with modern pop sounds—has, not only in Turkey but also in the global arena. While Reynmen's track "Renklensin," released in the first half of 2024, became the most-streamed song outside of Turkey during the same period, it was followed by "Lan" by Zeynep Bastık. Other songs that made the list include "Kapalı Kapılar" by Sefo, "Şalteri Kapattım" by Semicenk, "Acı Veriyor" by Mert Demir, "Sen Bilmezsin" by Dedublüman, "Kalbim Ağlama" by Kurtuluş Kuş and Siyam, and "Medcezir" by Burak Bulut.

TURKISH HIP HOP AT THE TOP AGAIN

Young and dynamic hip hop artists like Lvbel C5 and BLOK3 achieved significant success in Turkey with the new songs they released in the first half of the year. The list prepared by Spotify based on streams outside of Turkey demonstrates the success of these two names in the international arena as well. Lvbel C5 left his mark on the list with songs like "DOĞUŞTAN BERİ HAKLIYIM," "Sezen Aksu," and "nE !?," as well as "Pistola," which he released with Ashafar; while BLOK3 made his mark with songs like "GÜZEL VE İDDİALI" and "LAF," as well as his international collaboration with Stefflon Don for "Habibi." On the other hand, mashups made by Turkish hip hop artists with their catalog tracks in the first half of the year also drew significant attention. The "DACIA X YATIYA - Remix" by Lvbel C5 and Melis Kar stands out on the list as a successful example of this innovative approach.

WOMEN RISING GLOBALLY

Many other female artists accompany Zeynep Bastık, who revealed her fan base in the global arena by taking second place on the list, with their songs. While M Lisa is on the list with "ARABA," collaborations where powerful female voices are at the forefront also stand out: "İmdadım" by Eypio and Zara, "Kafamın İçi" by Ebru Yaşar, Siyam, and Zeyd, and "HATE YOUR GUTS" by INJI, who made a breakthrough last year and whose songs went viral, reflect the power and diversity of Turkish female artists in the global arena.
