The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has launched an investigation into the series "Taş Kağıt Makas", broadcast on Kanal D, on the grounds that it violates broadcasting principles.
RTÜK Chairman Ebubekir Şahin stated in a post on his social media account that they are examining productions that contain the abuse of women and degrade women.
'WE WILL NOT ALLOW THESE PRODUCTIONS'
Emphasizing that women and children are their "red lines" and that they will continue to focus on this with sensitivity, Şahin noted the following:
"We are aware of and are closely following the reactions of both our citizens and our sensitive NGOs against the series, which contains controversial scenes. We have initiated the necessary investigation into the series, which contains scenes evaluated as violating broadcasting principles from the moment it began airing. We have never allowed, and will not allow, productions that degrade women, cause them to be seen as objects, or contain the abuse of women."
