In a post on her social media account, Akkiraz highlighted the contradiction between the uproar caused by NBA player Alperen Şengün drinking a glass of rakı and the lack of reaction to the Pope's historic visit to İznik. The artist stated, "Those who raised hell because Alperen Şengün drank a glass of rakı! You are silent on the island travelers! You are silent on the Pope's visit to İznik! What is going on? Your tongues have gone mute!"
