Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe were set to face each other in Saudi Arabia for the Super Cup. However, after Saudi authorities gave a negative response to the requests from Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe to wear Atatürk-themed shirts and carry banners, both teams did not take the field.
Following these developments, the Super Cup match was postponed. This obstacle drew significant backlash in Turkey.

THEY TERMINATED THE AGREEMENT
The Saudi-owned brand Laverne was reportedly uncomfortable with Hande Erçel sharing a photograph of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The brand, which announced that it had terminated its advertising agreement with the actress following the post, is facing a wave of backlash.
The statement read, "The easiest decisions are those related to the homeland, and because the homeland is a red line... Laverne has decided to terminate the advertising contract with Hande Erçel."
