Serhat Teoman: 'It is a film outside the box'

Serhat Teoman, the lead actor of the romantic comedy 'Sevmek Yüzünden', directed by Ahmet Kapucu, discussed the film which will be released on Friday, March 22. 

Explaining that they made a film far from clichés, the actor said, "When the concepts of romantic comedy and feature film are mentioned together, key patterns like ‘cliché’ or ‘it’s been done too much’ immediately appear in the mind. However, when I read the script for ‘Sevmek Yüzünden’, it pushed all these patterns aside, so to speak."

"It handles a revenge story from such a sweet, and at times clumsy, point of view that also has a humorous side, which I really liked. It became an ensemble piece where every character serves the story," said Teoman, adding that he believes it is a film that will warm the hearts of viewers and make them look at their own relationships from a different perspective.

'THEY WILL REMEMBER SUMMER LOVES'

Stating that the audience will feel as if they have gone on an early summer vacation and will remember their summer loves, the artist said, "No matter what, they will see that in the face of betrayal, their sighs will not go unanswered, and they will realize the importance of standing strong and remaining self-confident. Thanks to the character I portray, they will also see that there is a ray of hope after grief."

'THE FILM IS BEST ENJOYED IN THE CINEMA'

Stating that cultural and artistic activities have turned into a luxury due to economic difficulties today, the artist said, “We have a limited number of pleasures in life. I believe we need to hold onto them in some way. And yes, there are many digital platforms available, and we watch countless movies and series. However, it might sound like a cliché, but I believe that the pleasure of sharing emotions and experiencing them collectively is something else entirely.

For this reason, while I wouldn't explicitly say ‘a film must be watched in the cinema’, I want to say ‘the taste and enjoyment of a film are best experienced in the cinema’. And I look forward to seeing our audience in theaters starting March 22.”

In the film 'Sevmek Yüzünden', Serhat Teoman is accompanied by Ayça Ayşin Turan. The film, written by Seçil Çömlekçi and Ahmet Kapucu, also features names such as Ezgi Şenler, Ali Gözüşirin, Ali Yoğurtçuoğlu, Yasemin Yazıcı, Gizem Kala, and Yıldız Kültür.
