Singer Kalben referred to courthouse after drugs found in her home
Singer Kalben Sağdıç was detained during a drug operation conducted in Beyoğlu. 15 grams of narcotics were seized during the operation. It was learned that in her statement to the police, Kalben said she did not sell the drugs but only used them.
The Istanbul Police Department Narcotics Branch teams conducted a drug operation this morning.
Evaluating a tip-off received in line with the ongoing investigation, police raided Kalben Sağdıç's home in the Beyoğlu district.
Singer Kalben Sağdıç was detained during the raid on the identified residence.
15 GRAMS OF NARCOTICS FOUND
During the searches conducted in the house, 15 grams of 'skunk' type narcotics in three pieces, along with 2,000 euros, 730 dollars, and 1,500 TL were seized.
The singer, who was detained under Article 188 of the Turkish Penal Code, was brought to the Istanbul Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch to have her statement taken.
The investigation launched against Sağdıç, who was detained by the police as a 'suspect', is ongoing.
HER STATEMENT HAS EMERGED
Kalben was referred to the courthouse following her procedures at the police station. It was stated that Kalben threw the drugs from the balcony during the raid.
Kalben was referred to the courthouse after making the statement, "I am not a dealer, I am a user."

WHO IS KALBEN?
Kalben Sağdıç (born January 17, 1986, İskenderun, Hatay) is a Turkish musician, songwriter, and women's rights advocate.
Kalben, who started getting interested in music at the age of 8 with a keyboard her mother bought, got her first guitar at the age of 14. This guitar was a second-hand Santana. She graduated from Bilkent University's Department of International Relations in 2007, which she entered on a scholarship at the age of 17.
After trying to work in various fields, she began a master's degree in Media and Cultural Studies at the same university's Department of Graphic Design in 2008 and graduated in 2011.
After submitting her thesis on ways of preserving memories and heirlooms, she moved to Istanbul to find a job. She started working as a brand manager within Universal Pictures. Afterwards, she was occupied with various jobs such as screenwriting, editing, project management, copywriting, and translation.
She continued to make music and give concerts occasionally in Ankara and Istanbul. The 'Sadece' video, released from a concert she gave with only her guitar in a house in Galata within the scope of Sofar Sounds on October 18, 2014, soon became the most-watched among Sofar videos.
She started her music career after the children's novel series she released called Lulu. She played the role of a cleaner in the TV series Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?. Her first album bearing her stage name, Kalben, was released in February 2016 under the Doğan Music Company label.
Kalben released her third studio album, Kalp Hanım, on all digital music platforms on March 20 under the Garaj Müzik label.
