Singer Kibariye reveals she was sexually abused

Kibariye, who was put on stage at a young age wearing wigs and heavy makeup, said the following in response to the question, 'Were you subjected to mistreatment?':
"I was. Years ago in Muğla, a boy fell in love with me and tried to attack me. He had torn off the buttons of my shirt; I was very scared. I was 13 at the time and working at a very nice place. One day, a sleeping pill was put into my cacık. My buttons and so on were torn. There was Zeyno Abla; she saved me.
I wrote a letter to my parents; they came and took me away. That boy's brother and sister-in-law beat him to death. He had fallen in love with me, but what kind of love is that at that age? I was going out to work to support my family. I was getting through a terrible ordeal there. Terrible things nearly happened. If I poured out all my notebooks until morning, it still would not end"
