Pınar Aydınlar appeared for the first hearing at the Tunceli 2nd High Criminal Court in a case filed against her on charges of "making terrorist organization propaganda," based on songs she performed at the 21st Munzur Culture and Nature Festival held in Tunceli in 2023 and two social media posts.

According to the report by the Mezopotamya Agency, Aydınlar and her lawyer attended the hearing via SEGBİS from the Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court courtroom.

SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS CAUSED TROUBLE

Following the defense statements, the prosecution presented its opinion on the merits, arguing that while the songs Pınar Aydınlar performed at the Munzur Festival fell within the scope of freedom of expression, the posts made on her Facebook account constituted "making terrorist organization propaganda," and requested that she be sentenced for this charge.

The court decided to sentence singer Aydınlar to 1 year, 6 months, and 22 days in prison for the charge of "making terrorist organization propaganda."
