Singer Şevval Sam speaks on the cancellation of the final in Saudi Arabia: "I will be grateful to Atatürk until I die"

The events that took place in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, before the Super Cup Final match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe had become a major topic of discussion.

The Super Cup match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe was cancelled following the crisis. The request by the teams to take the field before the match wearing Atatürk t-shirts and carrying banners with Atatürk's quotes before the ceremony was not accepted by the Saudis.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe clubs refused to take the field because they were not permitted to wear Atatürk t-shirts before the match.

Singer Şevval Sam, who spent New Year's Eve on stage, spoke about Saudi Arabia's refusal to allow the teams to take the field with Atatürk t-shirts during the Super Cup Final match.

Stating that she owes being a free woman to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the famous star said, "If the subject is Atatürk, I will always express it until I die. I am an individual and a woman who can manifest herself as she wishes. If I can express myself freely today and live my life to the fullest, I owe it to Atatürk. My gratitude to him will never end as long as I live."
