A spot one row above and four spaces to the left of Marilyn Monroe's grave in Los Angeles went up for sale at auction.
The space one row above and four spots to the left of the star's grave was sold at auction for 195 thousand dollars.
Beverly Hills-based investor Anthony Jabin said he had "always dreamed" of being next to Monroe. Jabin, who purchased the space next to the grave, also bought a swimsuit that belonged to Monroe and the former bed of Hugh Hefner.
Monroe, who passed away at the age of 36, is buried quite close to Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine. After Monroe's death in 1962, her ex-husband Joe DiMaggio held a private funeral service for her at Westwood Village. It was later planned for Playboy founder Hefner to be buried in a plot next to the actor.
In 2009, Hefner told the Los Angeles Times, "Spending eternity next to Marilyn is too sweet to pass up." It is known that Hefner, who died in 2017, spent 75 thousand dollars in 1992 to secure his spot.
