Spider-like clusters of matter observed on the Martian surface

Hundreds of spider-like clusters of matter, which emerge as a result of the heat generated by the spring sun, have been imaged on the Martian surface.

According to the European Space Agency (ESA) website, the phenomenon, which occurs due to the rise in temperature during spring, has caused hundreds of spider-like clusters of matter to appear on the surface of Mars.

These clusters of matter, which erupt to the surface under high pressure and spread across the ground, ranging from 45 meters to 1 kilometer in width, have been likened to "spiders" in shape.

It was explained that these "spiders" are formed when sunlight melts carbon dioxide ice on the Martian surface, turning it into gas, and this gas carries various dark-colored materials, such as soot, up to the surface.

The images were captured by ESA's Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) and the Mars Express orbiter.
