Statement from Faruk Turgut on 'Kızıl Goncalar': 'We are continuing from where we left off'

Filming continues for the series 'Kızıl Goncalar', which has been criticized by certain religious communities since it began airing and was issued a 2-week broadcast suspension and a 9 million TL administrative fine by RTÜK.

The production was also banned from using two locations that had been rented and decorated months ago, which were affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The production company, Gold Film, built the series' new sets from scratch at the Beykoz Kundura Factory.

'NEW LOCATIONS ARE READY'

The producer of Kızıl Goncalar, Faruk Turgut, stated, "Our new locations are ready. We are continuing from where we left off."

The third episode of 'Kızıl Goncalar' will meet the audience on Monday evening, January 22.

HE HAD SAID 'THEY DECLARED WAR'

Faruk Turgut had said in a statement to 12punto last month, "They declared war on us, but we will fight to the end. These obstacles will cause me a loss of 10 million TL, but health comes first. We will find new locations like lions."

WHAT IS THE PLOT OF KIZIL GONCALAR?

Kızıl Goncalar follows the intersecting fates of Levent (Özcan Deniz), a secular Atatürkist, and Meryem (Özgü Namal), who lives within a conservative religious sect, while highlighting the unifying power of motherhood/fatherhood when it comes to "children," despite differences in faith and opinion.

Faruk Turgut serves as the producer of Kızıl Goncalar, while the screenplay is written by Şükrü Necati Şahin. The series stars Özcan Deniz and Özgü Namal.
