Statement from the production company of the series 'Kızıl Goncalar', which RTÜK has launched an investigation into!

The series Kızıl Goncalar, broadcast on FOX TV and starring Özcan Deniz and Özgü Namal, has been targeted by pro-government media.

PRO-GOVERNMENT MEDIA TARGETED, RTÜK LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION

The series, which focuses on the lives of religious communities and secular families, was targeted by the newspaper Yeni Şafak, which claimed that religious people were depicted as fraudulent and bigoted. 

Following the reports, the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) launched an investigation into the series.

STATEMENT FROM THE PRODUCTION COMPANY

A written statement regarding the controversy surrounding the series came from the production company, Gold Film.

In the production company's statement, it was emphasized that the series is not a documentary or a news report, and it was stated: "In 'Kızıl Goncalar', the states of being right or wrong, good or bad, which exist in life, are attributed to the characters in the series, not to any specific segment or group."

The statement also noted that there have been malicious comments directed at the series, adding: "We are following the likes and criticisms with respect, and we leave the judgment of malicious comments to our valued viewers." 

The full text of the statement made by Gold Film is as follows;

"Regarding our series titled 'Kızıl Goncalar', following some unfair criticisms that do not align with the facts that have been shared in the public sphere for a few days, we would like to state clearly and unequivocally that the story we are presenting has no connection to any real institution, organization, or person. We have no intention of targeting any segment of society or disparaging any belief or value. 

"OUR SERIES WAS CONCEIVED TO HOLD A MIRROR TO THE SEGMENT OF SOCIETY THAT SUCCEEDS IN LIVING TOGETHER WITH ALL ITS DIFFERENCES"

"As in all series, in 'Kızıl Goncalar', the states of being right or wrong, good or bad, which exist in life, are attributed to the characters in the series, not to any specific segment or group. In our story, while we show the destructive effects of individuals from different segments of society who abuse their own value judgments, we also aimed to depict how people with different worldviews can find a common language with good intentions in life. Our series was conceived to hold a mirror to the segment of society that succeeds in living together with all its differences. We wish to be the subject of fair criticism that keeps in mind that 'Kızıl Goncalar' is a fictional story and is neither a documentary nor a news report. We are following the likes and criticisms with respect, and we leave the judgment of malicious comments to our valued viewers."
