REGARDING THE BILL
The AKP is preparing an amendment to the Animal Protection Law for a new regulation concerning stray animals. Acting on the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, AKP officials have prepared a legislative proposal that includes the 'euthanasia of dogs' to solve the 'stray dog' problem.
The completed legislative proposal is expected to be submitted to the Speaker of Parliament this week.
If the regulation passes through Parliament, the proposal, as reflected in public opinion and discussed in political circles, includes provisions such as carrying out sterilization and vaccination procedures in stages, providing a period for the adoption of dogs, and the 'euthanasia' of animals that are not adopted.
