Testimonies of Nihal Candan and Bahar Candan revealed

In the investigation conducted by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, social media influencers Nihal Candan and Bahar Candan were detained on charges of "Membership in a Criminal Organization" and "Laundering Assets Derived from Crime" as part of an investigation into the defrauding of 79 victims between 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The Candan sisters, along with İsrafil S., who was brought in after being detained in Kars, gave their statements at the Public Security Branch Directorate's Fraud Bureau.

KNOWN AS 'KAAN HAMZAOĞLU'

Nihal and Bahar Candan were questioned about their relationship with Onur Apaydın, the leader of the fraud gang who was arrested in an operation conducted in May 2023.

In her testimony, Nihal Candan stated that Onur Apaydın was a former boyfriend and that they had broken up a long time ago. Explaining that she knew Onur Apaydın by the name Kaan Hamzaoğlu, Nihal Candan said she had obtained a restraining order against him and only learned his real name was Onur Apaydın after obtaining that order.

QUESTIONED ABOUT LUXURY RESTAURANTS

During the investigations into the fraud gang, it was revealed that the gang held promotional dinners at luxury restaurants to lure people into their trap. It was stated that the sisters Nihal and Bahar Candan also attended these promotional dinners.

The Candan sisters were asked about these promotional dinners held at luxury restaurants. Nihal Candan stated that she went to the restaurants or nightclubs with her boyfriend at the time, Onur Apaydın, but denied being part of any fraud organization.

Bahar Candan also noted that many famous people frequented the restaurants in question.

According to allegations, the leaders of the gang were Eren Koç and Onur Apaydın. It was alleged that Nihal and Bahar Candan also gave statements during the operation 3 years ago.

Nihal Candan, her sister Bahar Candan, and İsrafil S., whose statements have been completed, will be sent to the Küçükçekmece Courthouse today.
