The actor who brought smiles to television series: Ercan Yazgan
Six years have passed since the death of cinema and television actor Ercan Yazgan, who was etched into memories with his roles as 'Driver İsmet' in the series 'Perihan Abla' and 'Doorman Cafer' in the series 'Bizimkiler'.

Ercan Yazgan, who drew attention with his directing as well as his acting, was born on April 4, 1946, in Sinop.
The artist, who stepped into cinema with the film "Dry Summer" (Susuz Yaz), which is considered one of the masterpieces of Turkish cinema, took part in various theater plays and feature films until 1983.
In the early 1980s, Yazgan shared the stage at the Tuncay Özinel Theater with prominent names such as Ayşen Gruda, Halit Akçatepe, and Tomris Kiper.
Yazgan, who appeared on screen in 1986 with the role of "Driver Ahmet" in the series Perihan Abla, received great acclaim for the character he portrayed.
ETCHED IN MEMORIES AS 'DOORMAN CAFER'
The master actor was etched into memories with his characters "Memnun Kaygısız" in the series "Kaygısızlar" and "Doorman Cafer" in the series Bizimkiler, which aired from 1989 to 2002.
Yazgan, who stated at every opportunity that he drew inspiration for the role of "Doorman Cafer" from Kemal Sunal, also earned Sunal's appreciation with this role.
'THEY GAVE ME HONORARY MEMBERSHIP'
In a television program he attended, Ercan Yazgan said the following regarding the 'Doorman Cafer' character:
"Doorman Cafer is someone struggling to survive under Istanbul's conditions. There is, of course, a certain softness brought by these doormen. However, the doormen are not very pleased with me; they say, 'You are letting the doorman be oppressed too much.' They invited me to the doormen's union and even gave me honorary membership. Of course, we talked about issues like the difficult conditions under which doormen live."
AIRED FOR 13 YEARS
The series Bizimkiler aired for 13 years and 465 episodes, becoming one of the longest-running series in the history of Turkish television.
Throughout his life, Yazgan took part in many cinema and television projects, acting in the same productions as Erdal Özyağcılar, Savaş Dinçel, Ayşe Kökçü, Mehmet Akan, Güzin Özipek, Dursun Ali Sarıoğlu, Arif Erkin Güzelbeyoğlu, Ali Uyandıran, Mehmet Akan, Cezmi Baskın, Salih Kalyon, and Zihni Göktay.
RECEIVED AN AWARD IN 1999
The artist, who overcame tuberculosis after a long treatment process, returned from the 36th Antalya Film Festival with the "Best Supporting Actor" award for his role in the 1999 film "The Trial" (Duruşma).
In 2015, Yazgan starred in the film "Tell Me a Tale" (Bana Masal Anlatma) alongside Hande Doğandemir, Cengiz Bozkurt, Erdal Tosun, Fatih Artman, and Devrim Yakut.
Yazgan, who passed away on March 8, 2018, at the hospital where he was receiving treatment in Istanbul, was laid to rest at the Karacaahmet Cemetery following a ceremony held at the Şakirin Mosque in Üsküdar.
